I'm hoping to get some advice on a difficult but important topic. I'm in New York State, and I'm trying to plan ahead so my family isn't stuck with a huge burden later.
I'm thinking about all my household stuff (like the furniture, clothes, etc.), and I imagine my heirs will want to take a few things, but not have to deal with clearing out everything else.
I'm wondering if there are businesses or charities that would come in and clear out the rest for them. Has anyone gone through this and have any tips?
For the stuff that has some value but isn't worth selling, are there specific charities that are better than others at handling large furniture or bulk items?
Any insights would be helpful!
